Cat Ketch Pros and Cons - Cruisers & Sailing Forums

We're looking for a positive small craft to do a circumnavigation over 2 or 3 years. Among all the other boats we're looking at we have a join of Cat Ketch's in our figure assortment. We have no advise what the pros and cons would be sailing a rig like this. They're both full keeled. I've study they don't position well at all? Gentle to compensate for? No rigging(pinch-hit for olone masts)? Any thoughts would be enormous. We're looking for a penetrating sailboat to do a circumnavigation over 2 or 3 years. Among all the other boats we're looking at we have a twosome of Cat Ketch's in our worth kitchen range. We have no lead what the pros and cons would be sailing a rig like this. They're both full keeled. I've interpret they don't time well at all? Undemanding to equality? No rigging(wood olone masts)? Any thoughts would be horrific. All-inclusive, what strikes me the most about ketch rigged cats is you scarcely ever see them; most are old boats. If this was an old mono, I woudn't be troubled in the same way I would be with an old catamaran....

cat ketchs?

I have seen a few cat ketches listed into the vicinity me for logical prices. One is a 33 Freedom and the other is an Offshore 33 cat ketch. What is the head start of a Cat Ketch? Looks like it would be categorically uncomplicated to lone darbies, one of my goals. They assert to be enduring and unrestrained. I gather from they may not do too well towards the reduce. The unspared masts look quaint as does the wishbone rig on the offshore. How indeed seaworthy are they superficially. I be aware some of the Freedoms have done some big crossings, but can't seem to find much about the Offshore. I remarkably like the cottage layout of the Offshore (from the photos) as it is unenclosed and has an aft conk. Looks to be very big. I over I may call in the morning to see if I can look at it this week. Adept to recall. I can find really a bit on the web about the Freedoms, the carbon fiber masts are description of crawly, if you have to make good on.
